OCAAEN Mentorship Program
The Orange County African American Employee Network Mentorship Program started in 2014. It is an opportunity for participants to have a positive influence on a fellow employee's career. Mentees receive information, knowledge and the guidance needed to enhance their career.

These objectives are supported by specific responsibilities that are required of each program participant. Responsibilities include:

Provide career coaching direction

Networking among professional colleagues

Identify and close gaps in training and skills

Provide mentee an understanding of the organizational culture
Mentee Responsibilities

Clarify mentorship needs

Fully engage in the process

Expand knowledge and skills
Each participant should make a one-year commitment to the program which begins in October of each year and ends the following October. During the process, mentees and mentors must have face-to-face meetings at least once a month. Participants will have bi-weekly phone calls and/or emails. Mentees will receive a survey after six months to determine if his/her goals are being meet.
To be eligible for the program, mentors must be an Orange County employee for at least 2 years and mentees must be an employee for one year.
